Step 1: Take the Challenge by Taking the Pretest
Start by taking the pretest to see what you already know about the BYUH Web standards, and which areas you need to learn more about.
The tests are divided into the four content sections: General Standards , Navigation & Accessibility , Page Design , and Content . If you answer at least 3 out of 5 questions correctly for each section, you pass that section and don't have to do any coursework. If you pass all four sections, then you automatically receive certification, and you are allowed to brag to all your friends about how well you know Web standards. Proceed to Step 2 if you did not pass one or more section(s).
Step 2: Take the Online Course
For each section of the course you don't pass during the pretests, there are learning modules available on this website to help you learn more about that section and prepare you to pass the test for that specific section. Each section has the following materials:
Discussion
List of principles and explanation
Examples of the application of the principle
Exercises
Review question
Step 3: Take the Unpassed Test
After you take the course for the section that you did not pass on the pretest, you are now prepared to take the section test. You can repeat this process until you pass all the necessary sections. After passing all 4 sections, and signing the agreement, you will be an officially certified BYU-Hawaii Webmaster!
